What About Me?

I draw, I run, I cook, I bake,

I learn, I play, I work, I pray!

Believe it or not... I'm an Asian girl who jumpped off an airplane twice, got certified with advance diving and now I'm going to try hang gliding!  I want to swim like a fish, fly like a bird and live my life to the fullest in every possible way. oh! By the way, My name is Karen (in case you didn't catch that).

I was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan up untill the 15th year of my life and just decided to come experience what they called "the American Dream".  I simply thought life would be wonderful, which it was at the beginning but it seriously is tough living in a different culture with a different language, lots of different rases and all about junk food.  However, I have to say that this, the life experience, truely made me who I am.  

My artwork takes a critical view of social, and cultural issues.  I have my interpretation of why we live the way we live now and many physical and psychological emotions that sometime we cannot express because of various reasons.  I let these true expressions speak in my art works.  It can be negative or extremely outageous but I believe that every little details I put in my work can be inspirational.  We live in the world full of beautiful lies that we seem to ignore the ugly truth.  In other words, we are all living in the imaginative world we build and says that it is the reality, but what it really is deep inside is that rotten real world we think is fantasy and ignores it right off.

Each of my illustrations and designs has my truthful opinions on the conflict between lies and truths and struggles and relieves of my personal behave.  I hope that sharing my experience can help one another.
